Jovan Simović was born in 1955. in the village of Donja Vrbava near G.Milanovac.
He is a member of art society in Kragujevac. Sculptor. Besides sculpture, he is pursue with drawings and pastels.
He had 13 independent and 60 group expositions..

In the cycle of sculptures 2004.- 2005. Jovan Simović incarnates self-content
''world of sculpture'' ; closed within himself and within his autonomic principles
of creation and a point of existence. From one side , that world is attached to reality with slim strings of remind,and from the other to freedom of his own creative imagination, roots technical and formal, typology and morphology these sculptures are narrowly dependent on '' a third world'', as if rather potential sculpture world '' hard and metal'' and formal, by itself, associative. That is a world quite close to Jovan Simović through his occupation as machine technician: ''the world of machines and mechanic''. From the formal- linguistic repertoire of the referred world , sculptor sucks his inspiration, using metal parts of machines and tooling directly, welding the new units, thanking to Simović's selection, his power of imagination and recognition, as well as in an inventive ability in bringing new, thought with wordy relations and relationships-becoming associative sculptures.
It is easy to notice that Simović, weather consciously or not, does not use wide repertoire of finished ''forms of suasions'' for creating those new sculptures. Why? He does it like a poet who reduces his language to the limited and hermetic world its symbols. That is good, because it gives to sculpures stressed homogeneity as well as consistency and identity.
Noticeable is Simović’s affection for symmetry and tentative symmetry, which gives to sculptures, in its own way, a feature of regularity and some stable tranquility.
Finished ''shapes of suasions ''of a machine origin Jovan Simović chiefly uses: callote, ball, envelope, gear, gyre plate, cylinder, etc. Ball and callote are predominant. From the said shapes, by the principle of assemblage ( putting together non-art, idustrial pieces into a new, with artistic means for expression into a whole) Jovan Simović, the author, creates potentially adequate, associative symbolic forms. Their symbolic meanings associate on the world of offspring, fruiting, breeding, blooming, florescence, thriving and so on. That is why in this Simović’s cycle there is an unique and figurative-associative detail called ''Pair'' 2004. In the context- narrative and associative meaning of the whole concept-the meaning of this sculpture has been, also,clearly thought.
